Bio & Platform
I was born and raised in Lake St. Louis, graduated from Holt High School, and studied philosophy at the University of Notre Dame (BA, Valedictorian Candidate) and Princeton (MA). I spent two months at the Global Priorities Institute in Oxford. I serve as a Deacon at my childhood church of Dardenne Presbyterian and was asked to serve on the board of directors for Restore St. Charles. This fall, I have been substitute teaching in the Wentzville School District, predominantly in the Special Ed Department at Duello Elementary. I love our community and want to promote democratic participation and peace.
- Campaign Finance Reform: We need more transparency about the money politicians accept. PACs subvert democracy and allow special interests, foreign powers, and corruption to influence our elections. Politicians should wear the logos of their sponsors like in Nascar.
- Abolish Slavery in Missouri Prisons: Prison Slavery is inhumane, outdated, hurtful to our communities, impairs rehabilitation and undercuts the fair labor market. You cannot love your neighbor and deny them the fruits of their labor.
- Voting Reform: ranked and approval voting better represent voters’ preferences than our current system. However, legislators are seeking to ban these processes, perpetuating an antagonistic 2-party system.
I support the separation of church and state so that every adult can come to their own conclusions about God, the afterlife, and the meaning of life. I believe that we must love our neighbors, especially people that are different from us, racially, ethnically, socio-economically, religiously, and politically. I believe that we must love our enemies. I believe that we should help a person in need rather than delaying until tomorrow. I believe in democracy. I have hope that we can do better.
