Griffin's Getting Bigger
Griffin’s getting bigger. Getting bigger all the time.
His body is growing, and his heart and mind are growing too.
Griffin’s getting older. Getting older all the time.
He is growing up and getting more mature.
Griffin gives flowers. He looks for what is lovely.
He likes to give presents and make people smile.
Griffin’s getting bigger. Soon enough he’ll need new shoes.
His feet will grow larger, but his number of toes won't be new.
Griffin’s getting older. Getting older all the time.
Now he's an older brother, and someday he might be a father too.
If I were an Elephant
If I were an elephant, the birds would land on my back.
If I were a dog, people would hold out their hands.
If I were a cloud, I'd drizzle and pitter patter.
If I were the wind, I'd soar with the kites and dance with balloons.
And if I were child, I'd track mud in the house, and let bugs in too.
If I were a dog, people would hold out their hands.
If I were a cloud, I'd drizzle and pitter patter.
If I were the wind, I'd soar with the kites and dance with balloons.
And if I were child, I'd track mud in the house, and let bugs in too.
A Moment
Dazzling
The geometry by painter’s brush
Scrawl lines of light from giants, some long past.
And they bear fair labels
Written in almanacs,
With stats and figures,
Like moods and tempers,
With dates and directions.
Swellest celestials
Sparking satisfaction
And sparkles of thankfulness and right-with-the-worldness
Happiness and Hearty Congratulations
May the skies smile kindly down upon you,
granting you calm and comfort,
through times of struggle and triumph
All my love

Stillness
Mistake not stillness for inaction.
Let silence mount.
On a single frame, focus.
Break from the raucous romp.
Be buoyed on the current and float.
Still stationary, we conjure ripples.
Worse than a stone, skipped,
ours meld and blend,
wreaking distortion.
Gentlest waves, we aim for,
to crash with least violence,
and erode just inasmuch as we must.
Soils we carry and deposit,
Deltas in our wake,
Banks, hither to thither,
and pulled by gravity all.
Let silence mount.

Break from the raucous romp.
Be buoyed on the current and float.
Still stationary, we conjure ripples.
